Dr. Tom Crabtree is the Group Medical Director for Aspen Medical International a global concern with deep expertise in the delivery of healthcare solutions in remote, challenging and under resourced environments. At Aspen, Crabtree has built an extensive network of private clinics across Africa and the Middle East linked by Aspen owned and operated aeromedical platforms.

Prior to forming the US affiliate of Aspen, he retired as a Colonel from the US Army where he served as a trauma and reconstructive surgeon in multiple domestic, overseas and combat settings, and was seconded to the United Nations to support various Department of Peacekeeping Operations missions.

He also served as the medical director and the senior medical advisor to the US Pacific Command’s Center of Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance. He held the same position with The Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Civil Military Relations Global Health Program.

A graduate of Harvard and Stanford, Tom Crabtree completed his general surgery training in San Francisco and Tucson and his plastic surgery training in Washington, DC, and Baltimore.
