Director for Stabilization and Peace Operations, OASD (Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict)
Pat Antonietti serves as the Director for Stabilization and Peace Operations Policy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict within the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. Previously, he served in various Pentagon roles including Director of Domestic Counterterrorism Policy, Director of Middle East Policy, and the Iraq Country Director within OUSD (Policy). He served in the US Army, holding a variety of command and staff positions in field artillery units with deployments in the USA, Germany, and Kosovo. He also served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff/ J5 and has commanded units ranging from platoon to battalion level, including a battalion deployed in the Sunni Triangle during the high intensity period from 2005 to 2006. His awards and decorations include the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Office of the Secretary of Defense Group Achievement Award (x3), Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Ranger Tab and others. He holds Masters of Arts degrees from the National War College and Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he was an Olmsted Scholar. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
